Can remotely assign any Network Attached Storage (NAS) in my local Comcast network to a computer off?
Trying to find a Network Attached Storage (NAS) that allows me to connect the NAS to my local network connected to Internet via Comcast cable modem, then I can map folders on the NAS through machines Remote Windows (for example, at work, or a hotel), so they appear as drive letters in Windows remote machines. It's okay if this also requires DDNS.
You need a router that will allow you to make a VPN connection to it. Then you can connect to any NAS, computer or device you need. Positive side encryption is that it is under their control. Linksys makes a great call RV42 and RV042. Newegg.com search for it. As for the NAS to do … Why pay more for something that has few options.
